South Whittier School District Hosts Annual Holiday Toy Drive & Distribution

South Whittier School District hosted its annual Holiday Toy Drive on Thursday, December 18, at the Family Resource Center located at Monte Vista Elementary School. The event provided families with a welcoming space to select holiday gifts for their children while enjoying a festive and supportive atmosphere.
During the event, parents and guardians were invited to “shop” for brand-new donated toys for their students. Gifts were thoughtfully organized by age group to ensure every child received an age-appropriate present. The wide selection included items such as baby dolls, toy cars, board games, speakers, and other popular toys. In addition to toys, students were also able to take home free books.
After families selected their gifts, South Whittier staff members, including employees, community liaisons, school principals, district administrators, and board members, volunteered their time to wrap each present. This extra touch helped ensure that every family left with gifts ready to be placed under the tree.
While parents and guardians browsed the toy selection, students were able to enjoy Christmas movies. Families were also treated to hot chocolate and had the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus, creating special memories during the holiday season.
All of the toys distributed at the event were generously donated by community partners and local organizations. Their contributions, along with the dedication of district staff and volunteers, made the Holiday Toy Drive a meaningful and joyful experience for participating families.
The annual Holiday Toy Drive reflects South Whittier School District’s continued commitment to supporting families throughout the community.
