Welcome to the South Whittier School District (SWSD) Wellness Services Program
2022 CSBA Golden Bell Winner in Social/Emotional/Health/Wellness Category
Our mission is to provide trauma informed and inclusive school-based mental health services, assuring that all members of the school community have access to support. We are a strengths based program and strive to educate and promote good mental health among all community members. With our services we aspire to instill hope and healing to all educator partners.
Our program is a collaborative effort between SWSD and local Universities. Services are provided throughout the academic school year by Licensed/Clinical Social Workers and graduate Social Work Interns under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Our program focuses on providing a continuum of tiered supports with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention. For students who present with more severe/chronic mental health needs, our program will assure we meet their needs by providing support with linkage to our community based mental health agency partners.
Welcome prospective MSW Interns! Our team of Licensed Clinical Social Workers serve as field instructors and strive to provide you with a well rounded clinical and school-based social work internship. We pride ourselves in providing clinical supervision as well as on-site support at your assigned school. Past Interns have appreciated our field instructor availability and support, opportunities to build relationships with the social work team and school personnel and flexibility in meeting your learning needs.
We look forward to supporting your journey in becoming a Social Work professional!
